I started drawing at a young age, first with sketch pads and paper, and eventually, one Christmas during my teen years, I was given a drawing tablet, which I used to begin drawing my artwork on computers. I love how art influences how we interpret things in life or how we can communicate messages through art to touch those who see them. Personally, I enjoy drawing fantasy-related subjects, as well as natural subjects. I'm very skilled at creating digital art using applications such as Adobe Photoshop, but I've also done artwork with only pencils, Promarker pens, and colored pencils. I enjoy adding a great deal of detail to my work, to the point where, due to my perfectionist nature, I end up taking longer than necessary to complete my projects. I enjoy drawing, and while I don't draw as much anymore due to mental health issues, I'm very interested in viewing artwork, particularly animation, and have always wanted to try making conceptual artworks for video games or even 3D modeling at some point. Animation intimidates me, which is why I've never really delved into it other than taking the occasional art class that focuses on learning animation, specifically 2D animation. 2D and 3D animation fascinate me. I enjoy animation made by lesser-known artists as well as Disney, Pixar, and DreamWorks. Viewing animation inspired me to consider voice acting as a potential career path. I just believe that art as a whole is magical.
I'm fascinated by voiceover work. The idea of using our voices behind a microphone to express emotion and bring a character to life awakens my inner child in ways that are difficult to express in words. I became interested in voice acting after watching all of the films and video games I used to play that featured spectacular voice acting; it inspired me to try it myself at some point, but I never got very far with it. Mostly because I decided to focus on theater and film acting for the majority of my career. Spyro was my first source of inspiration for voice acting. I adore dragons, especially Spyro, and the idea of being able to act without showing my face (I'm very self-conscious about my appearance) makes me feel less anxious about performing at all. In addition to voice acting, I enjoy singing, though I am not particularly good at it. I've been inspired by a variety of artists, particularly those with warm vocal timbres and songs that feel personal and intimate, as if a close friend were speaking to me. People with pleasant voices soothed me. I enjoyed reading books about vocal anatomy and practicing vocal exercises on a regular basis because I aspired to develop an alto-like voice like the artists I admired at the time. Unfortunately, because of my hearing impairment, I struggled greatly with anxiety, making learning to relax in order to achieve the desired vocal timbre impossible, especially when singing. I have a fear of others hearing me sing. I spent years practicing but eventually gave up and experimented with other voiceover content, such as narration, which was enjoyable, but voice acting felt more familiar to me. I enjoy bringing characters to life, particularly when it comes to voice acting in video games or films. I don't intend to sing in the near future, whether behind a microphone in a studio or on stage. It is too stressful. Actually, I don't sing at all these days. My only aspiration for voiceover work is in voice acting itself—because that's what I excel at and am most interested in anyway, and the art form itself is closest to who I truly am as a person, whereas singing felt more like something I did out of obligation from family and friends (even though I sucked).
I enjoy writing. I love how powerful words can be when used correctly. Even as a child, I used to write short stories and poems (none of which made sense, but hey, I was a kid), and I once won a school contest with one of my poems and received a certificate for it. It was one of the few times I'd actually "won" something, so I was very pleased. I enjoyed writing poems, but since the invention of AI, I've struggled with my confidence in writing because I've become overly reliant on technology. I wasn't very academically gifted, especially when it came to writing essays at university, so AI became an addictive tool for me to rely on. I still write today, albeit only for the purpose of journaling and recording any conceptual ideas that come to mind. I used to enjoy writing poetry, though. Poetry, particularly free verse poems, is my favorite thing to write. I just love the freedom it provides.
I'm not a professional editor, but I understand the fundamentals; I know how to edit videos in a semi-professional manner, so my skills in color grading, adding scenic transitions, adding text to a video, including animations, and so on are relatively decent. I've made a few YouTube videos, but I've also created videos that can be viewed on my website. I use Wondershare Filmora to edit my videos.
I enjoy acting. I prefer voice acting, but I enjoy delving into a character's mind, no matter how I do it. I've been acting since I was a child, when I took drama for GCSE, and later received my diploma in performing arts while in college before continuing my acting career at university, where I earned a degree in drama. Throughout the years, I'd participated in a variety of performances, ranging from theater to film acting, and while I enjoyed it for a time, I never quite fit in with the "crowd," so to speak, and after years of feeling out of place in that environment, not getting along with other people in that industry, and so on, I decided to take a complete break from it. Given how competitive the acting industry is, sacrificing my mental health was not worth it. Voice acting provided a "shield" that protects me from being fully exposed, whereas actual acting, where people can see your face, body, and overall demeanor all the time, became overwhelming. I enjoy watching theater plays or films with excellent acting. Even though I no longer perform, I admire the art of acting, and I'm grateful for the skills I've gained through years of acting training. I've also done some dancing, but I have no interest in the art of dance. It's just not for me. The entire industry is not for me.
Photography has always been enjoyable for me. I enjoy taking good pictures because it is quick, and the rush you get after capturing a good shot is very addictive. I know how to edit my photos using tools like Adobe Lightroom. I also understand how cameras work and how to use them effectively to ensure high-quality photos. I particularly enjoy macro photography, portrait photography, and anything that allows me to focus on one object in the shot while blurring the rest. I enjoy film photography as well, but I have difficulty working in crowds, so I no longer participate in behind-the-scenes photography.
